Panasonic System Networks Company of America today announced the release of a state-of-the-art intraoral camera (EJ-CA01UP), offering dentists and dental technicians unparalleled levels of performance, flexibility and user-friendliness.
The EJ-CA01UP features Panasonic’s proprietary Digital Image Signal Processing for delivery of exceptional still and video color reproduction of both teeth and gums. Other highlights include state-of-the-art six-lens auto-focusing for ultra-sharp imaging and image-stabilization to minimize retakes caused by shaky hands.
“Panasonic’s new EJ-CA01UP intraoral camera takes dental-office oral imaging to new levels of performance and time efficiency by producing better, more accurate video and still pictures and reducing the need for retakes,” Panasonic System Networks Company of America President Bill Taylor said.
“It is also a very effective education tool for patients,” Mr.Taylor added. “With it, dentists can take patients on a real-time video tour of their mouth from below the gum line to the crown, showing ‘pockets,’ ‘plaque deposits’ and ‘abscesses.’ Images can be viewed on a PC to enable the patient to visually compare the effects of prescribed home care during follow up visits.”
In addition to being a best-in-class intraoral camera for in-office patient examinations, its extreme focusing range (0mm to infinity) and accuracy of reproduction make the EJ-CA01UP ideally suited for:
- Producing detailed images for distribution to other caregivers such as oral and maxillofacial surgeons
- Documenting before-and-after-procedure changes for use as defense exhibits in potential malpractice lawsuits
- Creating visual study materials for dental colleges and dental technician training centers
The EJ-CAO1UP intraoral camera’s productivity and user-friendly features include USB 2.0 plug-and-play connectivity for recording and playback of still pictures or video on a Windows PC, image playback and capture control from either the main unit or hand piece, simultaneous display of up to four still images on one monitor, and easy printing of still images from a PC.
